SirAlexander 2 Posted ... Hi, the single french server is often overloaded, I don't know how much this is an issue about server's efficiency, anyway one or two more servers could be a good idea I think regards Quote Share this post Link to post
S.O.A. 83 Posted ... This topic has been brought up by a couple others, myself included. Having asked the staff in the past via a support ticket, I don't think we'll see a new French server anytime soon. Although you never know! Quote Share this post Link to post

S.O.A. 83 Posted ... Japan and France requests are seen frequently these days. Mr. S.O.A., I'm not sure if I missed it, but what did Staff tell you via support ticket? They wrote back and said the following: "There are no plans to add French servers in this very moment, but additions of new servers is discussed internally at least at the end or beginning of each month, so things could change anytime." Now this was in September of 2014. Given that it has been quite a awhile since that message and the current French server has remained pretty much above 100% usage and many new servers have been added elsewhere, I don't think we'll see a new one anytime soon. However, that's why I ended my response with, you never know. Maybe AirVPN will surprise us! Quote Share this post Link to post

victorab 12 Posted ... I will be interresting to know why AirVPN have more than 30 servers in nertherlands (some with only 5 users connected) and only one overused in France and why not they add more. Quote Share this post Link to post
OpenSourcerer 1435 Posted ... only one overused in France and why not they add more. I think, mostly because Air can't find an appropriate datacenter compliant with their mission statement. Quite difficult, given the state of things in France. I heard there's some kind of surveillance law or something. Quote Hide OpenSourcerer's signature Hide all signatures NOT AN AIRVPN TEAM MEMBER. eyes878 43 Posted ... I've always wondered about this. Why is there only one French server and why is it always overloaded? How is it possible for it to get 160/100Mbps? How is it possible for me to connect when it is running at as high as 200% capacity and still saturate my 80Mbps line? My only guess was that it is in fact a 1Gbps line, although it was a typo; but I find this hard to believe for the length of time it has been online like this. Quote Share this post Link to post

Hello, the uplink port is capable of 1 Gbit/s but only 100 Mbit/s are guaranteed. Usually the server can provide more than 100 Mbit/s, but we can't guarantee that it will be able to do that anytime, so the servers monitor reports "100 Mbit/s" as maximum available bandwidth.
