Can I use Air's DNS servers while not connected to the VPN

Hello!

 

As the topic title states, I would like to know if I can use AIR's DNS servers while my computer's not connected to the VPN?

 

I run a Windows7 machine.

 

My problem, currently, is that I've been having some DNS resolution issues when my adapter is set to "Obtain DNS servers automatically."  I tried manually specifying google's public DNS servers, but once I try to run AirVPN's connection program while my adapter is set to manually obtain DNS servers, I find that the AirVPN program can't connect to the VPN servers.  So I have no choice but to keep my adapter settings to obtain DNS servers automatically.

 

**Program settings:

 

1) Check if tunnel uses AirVPN DNS (checked)

2) Check if tunnel effectively works (checked)

3) Enable Pinger and Latency tests

 

4)Force TAP interface UP (checked)

5) Force DNS (checked)

6) Switch DHCP to static (checked)

Hello,

 

Eddie must be able to connect to VPN servers even without DNS at all. There was a version with a bug which prevented connection when there was no DNS at all, which Eddie version are you running?

Update:  I've downloaded and installed version 2.8.8 and it seems to have solved the problem.  Thank you so much!

 

If I could trouble you some more, I'd like to know if I could have connected to the Air DNS servers without going through the client by manually configuring my adapter too?

You can't, because the VPN DNS servers are accessible only inside the VPN.
