update from eddie 1 to eddie 2.9.2

Good Day All

 

Today I had to update my Airvpn Client from Eddie 1 to Eddie 2.9.2 since then my download speed while using airvpn on Netherlands dropped from 9 megs to barely 1 meg why is this please help.

 

I am using windows 7.

My normal internet speed is about 25megs i have tried different protocol ports no luck please let us use EDDIE 1 again

 

while downloading torrents on Eddie 1 was getting 1meg download.

Now Eddie 2.9.2 is downloading at 10kbs

Performance has nothing to do with Eddie, it's OpenVPN to handle everything in this case. Which OpenVPN version were you running before and which version are you running now?

You should be able to determine the version from Task Manager.

Run taskmgr.exe > Processes tab > right-click openvpn.exe > Properties > Details tab:

what DNS servers do you use?

Try to change it to Google public DNS (8.8.8.8 , 8.8.4.4)

I tried the 8 ports to see what worked best in my environment. 443, 53, 80, 2018, both UDP and TCP.

 

I hear people get better performance with UDP 443, UDP 53 or 80. That was not the case for me. I ended up finding UDP 2018 provided the best performance.

 

Recently, I noticed UDP 443 improved and have been using that.

 

I am unable to connect using UDP 53. Staff suggested my ISP is hijacking the (DNS) port.

 

Whatever is happening it certainly is a considerable difference.

 

I also noticed Kasperskpy Internet Security slows it down a bit but I must be on Windows so that is an observation, not workaround.
