Are you limiting our speed ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Before I got a test premium account and that time I got a good speed with your services.

I can get around 300 ~ 400 KB/s with my connection that can max around 1 MB ~ 2 MB /sec ( not Mbps).

After purchasing a premium account,

I feel that service are different, at first I thought it was my own connection speed. When I try

to test my speed using SpeedTest or direct download a file from the net, and the result show my Internet connection

was Excellent, cause I can get my max speed without using the VPN.

The sad thing is when I connect to the VPN, whether using direct or p2p connection the speed are around 30 ~ 100 KB

average in 50 KB/s . It was very slow for me.

I didn't want to condemn the service provided, this post only to hope the admin can check

whether something problems happen so you can clarify it to us.

Hello!

We do not cap the bandwidth. Trial accounts are premium accounts, they are absolutely identical, there is no difference in the system.

You might like to watch the FAQs to see the reasons for which you may experiment different bandwidth at different times. Please try to switch servers in order to determine which server can give you the best performance.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further information.

Kind regards

I already tried all the server available.

But the speed are not the same like I use your first trial.

I don't know what the problems is, I only can surf using US server , other only for p2p and will not able to open up a page.

Hello!

There's clearly something wrong. If you can do p2p but not open up pages, maybe this is a DNS problem. What is your OS?

Please perform the following test when connected to a VPN server from which you can't surf web pages. Send the following command from a shell, copy and paste the first 4-5 lines output:

ping www.google.com
ping 74.125.79.103
ping airvpn.org
ping 178.32.108.225

We're looking forward to hearing from you.

I'm using windows 7

I don't see any DNS problems here cause the DNS resolve as it is.

The page only not loaded up and hang on Connected to example.com but the page will not loaded up, unless I use Vega

server, I dont know if you have other special config for your Vega server, but now

the speed make me unsatisfied. I don't care if I cant use German/Neth server. I'm okay with the US Server

but the speed was terrible.

Below is the Ping result

One more thing is, are Vega really US server cause when I opening google it direct me to Google Hong kong.

My ISP is a WiMAX ISP, which have a very different routing, where I have different Public IP and Default gateway.

Which is different from other ISP. I don't know how to explain maybe I can say that My IP are in different network with my Default Gateway (or different subnet , sorry for the lack of technical term).

No, the configurations are identical on all servers.

The times are high but normal for a WiMax ISP.

Yes, Vega is really in the USA (in Oregon). It has IP addresses belonging to a block which has been spread throughout different countries, probably this is the cause for Google mistake. Anyway, US geodiscriminatory services correctly detect Vega IP as an american IP address (therefore Hulu, Pandora etc. work just fine). Also, please use Sirius if you want Google to detect you come from the USA.

This does not cause problems. At worst, it might only introduce slightly higher latency. The real problem is WiMax. We have noticed that several WiMax providers cap bandwidth on anything except http connections when they detect volumes of traffic on certain ports. This would explain why at the beginning (trial period) your connection was fast, and now it is not.

So, if it's your case (if you wish, can you tell us, in private of course, the name of your ISP?) when you connect with OpenVPN, your bandwidth is capped by your ISP. Please connect to port 80 TCP to try to circumvent the cap. We are also preparing a technical solution that will help to circumvent such caps. As soon as it is ready, we'll provide all the information in the forum. It should be a matter of days.

In the meantime, we are very much looking forward to hearing from you whether connections on port 80 TCP (also try port 53 UDP and 53 TCP) mitigate the problem.

Kind regards

My ISP called as (Y,E,S 4,G) ,a Malaysian WiMax ISP,

I dont know how to tell you in private as I'm not familiar with this board.

I only can work with UDP port 53, other are not connectable.

Another thing is, why I cant use the VPN when I'm over a Public WiFi,

as this is the time I really need to use it to protect my privacy and data during surfing.

I know that Public WiFi most of the time block many port,

but I dont think it's block the UDP port of 53 as I can issue a DSN lookup over the command line.

Hello!

We allow connections on port 53 UDP on every server. Please ask your public WiFi provider about the issue. Maybe they disrupt OpenVPN connections.

Kind regards
