airVPN and use of openVPN port 1194

Recommended Posts

I notice there is no way to configure airVPN to use the standard openVPN port 1194. Strangely, my ISP prioritises VPN traffic and knows by default that 1194 is openVPN. All the other ports that airVPN uses are mostly to obfuscate VPN traffic and may be hit by traffic management.

Well, there may be ISPs who block OpenVPN's standard port. That's why we try to connect via the ports of HTTP (80), HTTPS (443) or DNS (53) because they are definitely not blocked.

I appreciate that but it would still be nice to have an option for the standard port 1194. Also makes wireshark traces quicker to read.

Hello,

it's not a big issue, we will implement it in the near future.

Kind regards

Wow! That's great service.
