Can't connect on Win7 only

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a curios problem on Win7 x64 and no more ideas. Maybe someone can help ?

I have a laptop with a freshly installed Windows 7 x64 and using the AirVPN software.

I come to the point where it says "connect to ......" and nothing more. After 20-30 seconds it does a retry and so on.

The funny thing is I can connect with my smartphone without any problems (Android, using OpenVPN, UDP 443).

Let's make long story short. My test results are:

- At home I can connect via smartphone but not via Laptop

- But shouldn't be a Laptop problem because it works at work.

- I tried several different VPN servers and countries.

- I tried OpenVPN with the same result (can't connect). The log is shown below.

- I tried it via WLAN and LAN. Same result

- Internet works without problems

- I checked some network settings. I'm using automatic IP address and have no proxy.

- Switched off Firewall. Doesn't help.

- Did a reinstall without success.

No more ideas, now. Can someone help ?

Hello,

what happens if you try a connection in TCP? With our client Eddie you can change connection mode in "AirVPN" -> "Preferences" -> "Protocols". In your laptop, try for example port 443, protocol TCP.

Have a check to antivirus software (if any) as well, just in case it's blocking openvpn.exe

Kind regards

Thanks for your suggestions.

No virus scanner installed.

I tried TCP and the issue was a liitle bit different. After connection it has problems to reach remote server and disconnets after 5 retries.

This gave me the idea to have a deeper look in the Router settings. Notebook was configured as Guest only in Router :-(

After change it works, now.

Thanks for your help.
