Private IP Address Exposed when Reeiving AirVPN IP?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am a newbie so I am sorry if this is a stupid question. What I would like to is when you first connect to a AirVPN server does the server grant your IP after the VPN tunnel is established? Basically what I really want to know is if the DHCP packets containing the IP address that AirVPN grants a user are encrypted? I ask this because if not encrypted, wouldn't this mean that it is possible for another party to then make a match between your own private IP (i.e. the one you don't want exposed) and the IP granted by AirVPN? Cheers.

Hello!

The tunnel is established only after the push, but all the flow is encrypted even before the push, at the very beginning of the handshake. Look at the logs for more details.

Kind regards

Thanks for the really prompt response. Just checked the logs and see that traffic is encrypted before the server 'push'. Must have missed it yesterday as the log was the first thing I checked before posting. Thanks again, it's all good.
