stoffer 1 Posted ... I have a question concerning port forwarding.I am forwarding a port number via my setting on your webpage. The port forwarding is to be used with uTorrent. What happens if I logon to AirVPN with two computers at the same time?Computer 1 runs uTorrent, computer 2 is to be used to surf the internet. Both computers are using AirVPN at the same time. Will the port be forwarded to both computers or only to the first computer that logon to OpenVPN? Quote Share this post Link to post
Staff 9973 Posted ... Hello! To both. Ports you specify in your control panel are forwarded in few seconds to your client VPN IP in each and every VPN server your account connects to. That's also why you need to connect to different VPN servers when you perform multiple, simultaneous connections. Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
quisp65 1 Posted ... Hello, Thinking about getting AirVPN and trying to understand the Port forwarding process with it. Wouldn't your router then forward those selected packets to the correct Computer? For Utorrent to work correctly with port forwarding you would have to have your router also forwarding the ports. ty Quote Share this post Link to post

If OpenVPN runs in your router then yes, you need to forward ports to the devices connected to the router because they are behind another NAT (the router NAT). You would need a DNAT, please see for example https://airvpn.org/topic/9270-how-to-forward-ports-in-dd-wrt-tomato-with-iptables/ If OpenVPN runs in the same device (a computer, for example) that runs uTorrent too, then forwarding another port (even with the same number) on the router not only makes no sense (the port set and interface have nothing to do with the remotely forwarded port set) but it is also dangerous because may expose your system to correlation attacks.
