Getting disconnected after checking route.

Basically I can't use the service, after checking the route the clients disconnect and keep trying again in a few second repeating the problem.

Try to upgrade to Eddie 2.3: a bug pertaining to this loop was fixed. Feel free to keep us posted.

When I use OpenVPN GUI it appears to be connected but I cannot load any websites or anything else that needs an inetrnet conenction, pretty much what happen when I used the old client, it woudl show as conencted but could not access anything.

Hello,

 

it does not seem and Eddie problem then. From the symptoms you report and from these log line:

 

2014.07.06 12:29:05 - Checking route

it seems that your system is unable to resolve name after it enters the VPN. Before proceeding with further attempts let's make sure that it's only a DNS issue and not something else: please connect with OpenVPN again, open a command prompt, issue the commands

ping 10.4.0.1

ping 8.8.8.8

tracert 95.211.138.143

 

and paste the output here.

Hello!

 

And it's not a DNS issue. The system does not communicate at all in the VPN. First thing to check is firewall and antivirus, just in case they are either interfering with network modifications, or blocking OpenVPN packets.

 

Feel free to post the output of command "ipconfig /all" and "route print" (edit it if some IP address may affect your privacy).

If anyone is experiencing this on a mac, I found that disabling and re-enabling wifi allowed the client to connect ("have you tried turning it off and on again?")

 

Click the wifi icon in the menu bar, then "turn wifi off".  Then click the wifi icon again, and turn it back on, and try to reconnect airvpn again.

 

This typically happens for me after the client has been running for a while, and I've closed/re-opened the laptop a few times too.  Must just be a case of some temporary config changes needing to be cleared out.

I am also having the same issue but restarting the router and iMac does not solve this.
I also have a windows based server and a MacBook Pro on the same network with the same issue. 

When I try to Ping 10.4.0.1 from the iMac the results are as follows:

I have connected my iMac to my iPhone though the iPhone Hotspot on the Three UK network, and I get the same results. 

I would assume that either Eddie is connecting to a DNS server that no longer exists or the IP address has been blocked by all UK ISP's.   But I'm only guessing. I have no idea TBH  so any help would be gratefully received.

I am also having the same issue but restarting the router and iMac does not solve this.

I also have a windows based server and a MacBook Pro on the same network with the same issue.

 

Hello,

 

what happens if you disable DNS check? Select "AirVPN" > "Preferences" > "DNS", untick "Check Air VPN DNS" and click "Save". Enable Network Lock as well.

 

When I try to Ping 10.4.0.1 from the iMac the results are as follows:

PING 10.4.0.1 (10.4.0.1): 56 data bytes

Request timeout for icmp_seq 0

 

That's expected, the VPN DNS is not reachable from the Internet, as you might have seen the address is in a private subnet.

I have the same problem and tried both :

1)Preferences > Advanced > unmark "Checking if the tunnel effectively works"
 and 2) disabling DNS check
, no change ..

It is also odd that i can successfully connect to all german servers but close to no dutch servers, dont know if that indicates anything though as i am not tech-savvy. 

But i think its important to note that the problem persists ( in my case) since a few days, and it`s usually always the same servers since then that i cant connect to . (time out at "checking dns" or "checking route")
by the way i also got the newest version of eddie installed. 

(I wanted to also express my thanks to the AIRvpn community and its creators, overall i am very pleased by AirVPN and wish it best of luck for the future ! )
