Same IP for every connected device?

Recommended Posts

Hello folks,

I discovered that if I connect two devices to the AirVPN (Both Linux with command line openvpn), they happen to get the same IP address on their tun0 interfaces. Also, the AirVPN-Website only lists one active session.

Can anyone tell me, what I am doing wrong? I need my clients to have different IP addresses as I want them to communicate over the VPN (and also because it seems weird to me to have to devices with the same address, something can't be right here)

Wolle

Hello!

You must connect different devices to different VPN servers. If you don't mind about port forwarding, then you can also connect different devices to the same server on DIFFERENT ports and/or with different protocols.

Kind regards

Okay, now I get different addresses on my clients, but I am still not capable of connecting them via their VPN IPs.

I tried to add a route 10.4.0.0/16 via the default gateway propagated by the VPN Server on both devices, but that didn't work either.

Is there something I missed to configure or is client-to-client communication inside the VPN prohibited by the server?

Hello,

it is explicitly forbidden for security reasons.

Kind regards
