Cannot seem to launch the Air Linux client

This is really a Linux question.  At least I hope it is.  I posted in the "beta" thread about Linux and Eddie but nobody has responded with any ideas.  I am hoping some linux users will notice this post and jump in.

 

I downloaded the Air client to my 14.04 desktop and then installed it directly from there.  I watched the progress bar as it installed and it seemed to go fine.  I can open applications in the upper left corner and I see the AirVPN icon.  When I click on the icon it opens and there is a LAUNCH button.  I click on LAUNCH and everything disappears and all I see is the full desktop.  I am thinking its a permissions or Sudo thing.  Anyone here have a Linux steer to recommend?

 

 

I can easily run Air & Linux 14.04 by connecting using terminal commands.  I downloaded what I needed from the Air config generator and put it on the desktop.  From there the manual approach runs like clockwork on this laptop.  Still, it would be nice to see what Eddie in linux flavor has to offer and how nice it really is.

 

So, how to launch Air Eddie in Linux?  Suggestions!

Hello!

 

The client will not start under Ubuntu. A version running under Ubuntu is currently in testing. Everything is going well at the moment, so if no other issue rises up, the next Eddie release will include these changes and will run in Ubuntu distros as well.

Thanks.  I was starting to lose my mind.  LOL!!

 

For now Air is running slick in terminal and that isn't that hard to use.  I'll stay tuned.
