Question and suggestion about username and password length.

I use password managers to allow me to use ultra strong passwords as well as allow me to change them as frequently as needed and/or wanted.

 

My question is this:

 

1.) What is the maximum number of characters allowed in a password when registering or changing a password here at AirVPN? What is the maximum amount of characters allowed in usernames?

 

2.) What types of characters are allowed in passwords? What types are allowed in usernames?

 

My suggestion is this:

 

List this information next to the respective forms during registration and password/username change menus.

 

I believe this would be useful for many, especially those who use password managers.

Hello!

 

In the username please use characters included in [a-z], [A-Z] and [0-9] sets.

 

About the password, please use passwords not longer than 32 characters. While we have foreseen longer passwords, the authentication method still shows problems with longer than 32 characters passwords. Anyway, a "good" password with just 16 characters is extremely strong already.
