retiredpilot 6 Posted ... Strange thing noticed: I have several OS's on a machine running 7 Pro. When I use 7 and Comodo firewall going straight through only my ISP I get a full Stealth rating at grc dot com. However I also notice that while I am on 7 Pro and connected to Air VPN the results are different. When I run the test at grc I find that port 88 is OPEN. My 7 OS is different than the one where I don't use Air. Both are full disk encrypted and the one using Air has the firewall rules as described in this forum. Either my ISP is blocking 88 and when I am connected via Air its not being blocked, or Air may be using 88. I am examining if there is a security issue I should address. As a further note; when I am running my linux virtualbox VM on the same host (used with Air) the grc test from within the VM shows 88 closed. I wanted to ask Admin/Staff if I should just close 88 via firewall rules or if I need to leave this alone? Would VirtualBox and use of VM's have somehow opened port 88? Any help or suggestions appreciated. Quote Share this post Link to post
Staff 9973 Posted ... Hello, packets to exit-IP:88 are not forwarded to the VPN. That port is used for services on the exit-IP address, outside the VPN. Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
