Cannot send emails via some email servers

Using the Mac Mail email client on Mac OS 10.6.8 when connected to AirVPN, I can send emails from accounts hosted at inmotionhosting.com, but not from accounts hosted at neomailbox.net.

 

Disconnecting from the VPN allows all accounts to send email instantly.

 

Any suggestions on what to do?

Hello,

 

outbound port 25 is blocked (a necessary decision to let our servers survive). Not a big deal, because you should never use SMTP without SSL/TLS, VPN or not. Maybe you connect to the working mail server on some other port (for example 465 or 587 for SMTP over SSL) and to the non-working mail server on port 25.
