  1. Been having trouble with Audible the last few days. I sometimes can and sometimes can't log in to audible.com while using a VPN (and sometimes only certain pages will load when I can), but I can never download any of the titles in my library - either the page times out after clicking the download button or redirects me to audible.com/howtolisten. (Yes, the option to check for Audible software was disabled.) At first all I had to do was log in using my real IP, but then later I found that I couldn't download even then: it would keep redirecting me again to the "howtolisten" page. So... to make a long story short, I had to download using my real IP via Audible Manager. I'm mentioning the latter problem because I'm not quite sure at this point if the inability to download was caused by using a VPN, or if Amazon/Audible is trying to force everyone now to use their Manager, or if it's a couple of issues occurring simultaneously - or if something in their system just isn't working right at the moment. BUT.... I also have an Audible UK account, which I can usually log-in to using just a UK IP, but now I could not log in to audible.co.uk after repeated attempts and trying several UK servers - the site would just not load at all. I did finally manage it by also using a UK dns, something I've never had to do before. By the way, Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk: no problems logging into those sites, and so far I haven't found any pages not loading on either, although I haven't yet tried to purchase anything while using a VPN.
  2. Heya, first post on the forum. So, I always had issues while connecting with the UDP protocol. It always ended up with a: curl: (28) Operation timed out after 20000 milliseconds with 0 out of 0 bytes received Unfortunately I didn't find many posts about how to solve the problem or what may be the cause. Except for one post that said it had to with the MTU (Maximum transmission unit). I don't know the exact cause since I don't know a lot about networking. Maybe there is a better solution, if there is I'm more than happy to edit the post. Keep in mind that it helped me and may not help you, but it's always worth a shot. ------------------------------------------------------------ Windows ------------------------------------------------------------ 1. We want to find out what our current MTU is, most likely 1500 but it's always good to know what the default value is. 2. For this, we need to go into: Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre > Change adapter settings You're looking for the Tap-Windows Adapter (example included in hyperlink). You need the name for later which is my example, just "VPN" 3. Open cmd as an admin 4. Type netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "YourInterfaceName" mtu=1200 store=persistent 5. And you're done! Try connecting to AirVPN with UDP again and tell me if it worked! You can try going higher, since I'm pretty sure it's better the higher it is. ------------------------------------------------------------ Linux ------------------------------------------------------------ This is only going to cover "NetworkManager" and "OpenVPN" If you're using something else, find your equivalent As a sidenote: I'm currently on Windows and can't confirm if it actually works, may update the post when I change back to Linux 1. Right-click the NetworkManager applet and choose Edit Connections 2. Double-click your VPN connection, in my case AirVPN_NL-Alblasserdam_Hydrus_TCP-433. Example 3. On the bottom above Save click Advanced... 4. Click on the checkbox that says Use custom tunnel Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) 5. Enter 1200. Example 6. And you're done! Try connecting to AirVPN with UDP again and tell me if it worked! You can try going higher, since I'm pretty sure it's better the higher it is. ------------------------------------------------------------ This is the first guide I ever wrote on the internet. If you have any suggestions, grammar mistakes that you found, feel free to let me know. Fun Fact: My ping actually decreased from 60 to 48. I'm guessing because my ISP has a shitty routing system, not sure though. - Scy
  3. Hey, So today I notice that my connection through Android devices has stopped working. (Open vpn for android) It says it's connected but no data is being passed through so a Web page will eventually get a timed out error. Only happens on Android, the Windows client works as it should. Screenshot. 1st is initial connection the 2nd is after disconnection.
