Hi I purchased a Shield TV Pro as recommended HERE especially for Prime Video and Disney+. I had no problem to sideload Eddie app on the Shield pro. I'm located in France and I'd like to watch their US catalog, so I select an US server, it connects perfectly. I also installed a web browser to check if my ip is located in USA and it's ok. BUT... - Prime video still gives me french catalog (with french movies) - Disney+ gives me an error 73 or 83 I tried everything I could, even uninstall/reinstall Disney and Prime. Is there something I'm missing ?

I am stuck overseas in the Dominican republic because of the Covid crisis, and airports are closed again for another month until July 9. I saw that you can use a VPN to show that you are in the United States and watch your paid for subscriptions that you have while overseas, however this does not work with airVPN. At least the configurations I created from Miami, Illinois and was hoping someone here could give advice how to configure airVPN. so I can use my subscriptions to see all that I have paid for. I paid for another subscriptions of airVPN for nothing, as I can’t use it here that was promoted that it could do. in fact, Netflix and prime video in broad bold letters at the top says please turn off your VPN and try again. I can’t even watch anything if airVPN is turned on. Any advice on how to get access to Netflix, Amazon prime, and Disney+ from the Dominican republic would be much appreciate it if it is possible with AirVPN. Other VPN services were promoted as being able to do this so it seems that AirVPN should be able to do this as well, but it is not working and both Amazon and Netflix immediately knoW I’m using a VPN and say I can’t access their service at all when it’s turned on and tells me to turn it off. So I can’t even watch Netflix with airVPN turned on my iOS device, my iPad and my iPhone 11 which is all I have here for What I thought was to be a short visit in March for my wife’s mothers death, and return 25 March, but all was canceled by that time. Now we have been stuck here over three months having to pay each day stay here and it’s become an incredible financial burden with all money going out on our credit cards and no money coming in. Our jobs are open and functional at this time, but we cannot attend because we can’t get to Miami. We can fly within the states, but we can’t get to Miami from here until July 9. Thanks in advance for any assistance, Zephar

Problem with Disney+ and Prime Video
Tech Jedi Alex replied to korgen's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
You must be fair here: It was you who made the decision to purchase it. No one was telling you to do so. Also, you greatly misinterpreted Staff's messages: They did not test Disney+ in France. They tested whether the client can be sideloaded on the Shield, whether it connects and whether it correctly routes traffic. The client is working as intended. Just because the client is useless for your specific use case does not mean the client is useless as a whole. The decision to spend 200€ for software and hardware before testing the setup out with as little cost as possble is a decision you made; in essence, this means you're really pissed at your own decision. All the information here do not indicate that you specifically asked the community whether the Shield + client works with Disney+ in France, you just assumed without proper testing it does. If you had asked, someone would've linked threads to Disney+ topics detailing that it's a very wild hit and miss. It can work, but mostly it doesn't, even on PC. -
A few questions from newbie
Staff replied to airvpn.italia@maildrop.cc's topic in General & Suggestions
Hello! Correct. A new Eddie Desktop edition version 3 will get rid of Mono in the UI (Eddie backend already does not need Mono or .NET framework). The UI itself will be refreshed. A roadmap is not currently available, we're sorry. Several variables affect performance of OpenVPN and WireGuard and it is actually difficult to provide an effective and general suggestion on which of the two you should pick. Ignore the "recommended for best performance" at the moment, we might remove it altogether. Test both WireGuard and OpenVPN and pick the one which can provide you with the best performance. On iOS, provided that your ISP does not shape WireGuard or UDP traffic, and therefore on a level playing field, WireGuard is faster according to the majority of reports. You can find detailed instructions for WireGuard in iOS in the dedicated page, direct link: https://airvpn.org/ios/wireguard/appstore/ No, we're sorry, major streaming platforms (e.g. Hulu, Primevideo, Netflix, Disney+) are not accessible from our infrastructure. We would need "residential IP addresses" from USA residential ISPs to make them accessible. We have no plan for that for the near future, we're sorry. Just ask for deletion in a ticket (click "Contact us" on the web site while your account is logged in and send the deletion request) Kind regards -
Well, the servers don't move, so speed is kinda limited to 0 km/h, except for when it's moved, then it can be as slow as a pedestrian and as fast as a plane. The throughput, though, is something only you can find out after some testing. A trial can be bought for 2€, or you can ask nicely in a support ticket if you could get a 3-day trial to test things out. If OpenVPN doesn't seem to be on par with your expectations, Wireguard should be tried. Not sure I understand the question, but P2P is working on all servers. Netflix is rerouted to US everywhere, and it doesn't work reliably. Same goes for BBC iPlayer, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and others. Your Mileage May Vary.

Problem with Disney+ and Prime Video
korgen replied to korgen's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Bullshit ! First of all my 1st sentence was "I'm looking for a solution to watch Amazon Prime or Disney+ from another country on my TV." The fact is it's impossible and HE KNEW IT. Honesty would be to tell me it wouldn't work instead of let me know the oposite. You're really funny !! Spending 200 or 30€ for a Shield pro or a Firestick IS NOT THE QUESTION. Even if I purchased a 30€ device, he shouldn't let me believe in lies. Besides, you think I would buy for 30€, try and if it worked send back the device, asking refund and buy 200€ device ? That's stupid and a waste of time ! I'm pissed by incompetence and dishonesty form a staff member. So you tell me the purpose of installing a vpn in a STREAMING STICK is not for watching streaming services from different countries ? LOL ! Spoiler alert : it's the ONLY use that 98% people do !! Next time you'll tell me to not buy a car to drive on the road ? The staff member did indeed make a mistake by ignoring my intention when I clearly expressed it from the start. I was a hotline technician and I'm still in computer maintenance, the FIRST thing to do in this job is to listen fully to what the customer says, what this guy has not done. Defending him by putting the blame on me is nothing more than another proof of dishonesty. If it's to tell bullshit, no need to answer people. -
Problem with Disney+ and Prime Video
korgen replied to korgen's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
I see, but in the previous topic I made it clear that I was considering buying an android media player specifically for Prime Video AND Disney+ with airvpn, and that I didn't want to buy for nothing ! If it doesn't work, why did he let me spend 200€ ??? What's the point of developing a vpn client for Shield or Firestick if it's useless ! Sorry but I'm pissed. -
Hi everyone. I'm looking for a solution to watch Amazon Prime or Disney+ from another country on my TV. Unfortunately my TV doesn't include a VPN option and I can't get Airvpn on my Asus router (RT-AX58U) working. That's why I think a streaming stick (like Firestick, Chromecast, Nvidia Shield TV...) would be a solution. What streaming stick would you recommend, which one works 100% with Airpn/Eddie installed on it ? Thank you.

Netflix gets redirected over US on all servers, could be the reason the registration form doesn't display, but no exact idea. Thanks for the reports on Waipu, Joyn and Disney+, though.

"All the hardware used to operate OVPN is owned by us. All VPN servers operate without hard drives as the operating system only resides in the RAM memory." "OVPN has been in court fighting a two-month long information injunction as user information was requested from us. OVPN emerged victorious due to our no-logging policy." "OVPN unblocks a myriad of streaming services across our VPN servers. Easy, fast and high quality streaming. Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Nordic" This sounds really good. I definitely will give them a try once my AirVPN subscription runs out.

thanks so much for the response and suggestions. I’ll give it a try as you stated using air DNS, although I’m not sure what that is I recall in the beginning you slept from a couple choices and I think that’s one of them. But I’ll read through the specs page and hopefully I can figure it out. I was disappointed your VPN didn’t work for Netflix, Got the same VPN detection from Amazon prime, and also from Disney+. Absolutely nothing worked, but are used my regular method of configuring for an iOS device, for use in the USA. Perhaps your suggestion will fix this. Best, Zephar

I'd say, if this is the case, maybe unsubscribe from Netflix temporarily? Netflix was explicitly supported in the past, but currently is not. A minority of users might write it does work for them, maybe they can give you more advice if they happen to read your thread. In the forums people started posting experiences with Disney+ only recently, there's too little data to say something precise about it. What we know suggests it does not work and is also not supported by the rerouting feature. With Amazon Prime Video, though, it seems to work mostly. Since you are not using Eddie, make sure you are using AirDNS so that you can use the rerouting against georestricted content. Set your DNS servers statically to the ones on the Specs page.

Is there anything similar to smartdnsproxy we can use?
ecabdf replied to ecabdf's topic in General & Suggestions
So, I managed to try out (apart from Netflix) on the Fire TV Stick 4k: only AppleTV+ works with US servers. Although I'm not sure about the increased bandwidth, because input video bitrate never went above 15000 on the built-in OSD. I'll try to roughly "measure" it with Eddie's built-in counter. The rest don't work: - Amazon: main menu works (including previews!), but when you try to stream content then it doesn't - Disney+: it couldn't even get to main menu, a message said that the service isn't available in that region, plus it deleted all the account info -

Thanks for the reply. So there's no easy "only DNS set" in the devices apart from using the VPN service? Maybe it'd be a good idea to consider The TV is LG B8, meaning WebOS. There's Netflix and Amazon on TV, Disney+ and AppleTV+ on the fire stick. I'll take a look on Fire TV. But the big concern is whether the device (TV, Fire stick) is powerful enough to handle the VPN connection by itself with 30 Mbps. -

Depends on the TV. The way I hear it, Eddie is available on and compatible with both Android TV and Fire TV (+Stick). For specifics I'd like to refer to the forums search, there are some threads about each in the past. Keep in mind though that some streaming services like Netflix are not officially supported any longer because it's very difficult to find a server which works with it. Some threads also keep coming up now and then about BBC iPlayer and a bit about Prime Video. Then, we've no reports on all the new streaming services which came out this year yet, namely Disney+ and Apple TV+. We would appreciate a report from you which service you are using and how well it works with AirVPN. -
I have been a NordVPN-customer for a while now - signed a long contract before I discovered that there's no chance for port-forwarding. Since I'm quite unhappy with the situation I was looking for another VPN-service without such limitations and became a AirVPN-customer. I am using the VPN connection on my Raspberry Pi 4 4GB on Raspbian. I am using the official NordVPN client for Linux and so I do with 'Eddie' right now. Setting up AirVPN was quite easy, the client is comfortable, so I jumped in and used it for a couple of hours. But then I was wondering that it felt quite slow to put my holiday photos to the cloud. So I went to speedtest.net and made the test a) without a VPN connection b) with a connection to NordVPN c) with a connection to AirVPN The results? a) 52/40MBit b) 26/35MBit c) 26/17MBit So I started to search the internet for various ideas of what is going on here. There was one guy who fixed his issues by trying several proctocols & ports, so I did. UDP, TCP, SSL, SSH, various ports, different servers from all kind of funny countries from 22-250ms ping - I've seen a difference sometimes, but no results that made me happy at all. Another guy was told that his Raspberry Pi is the bottle neck in this case and it isn't possible to get better OpenVPN results on the tiny device. Mh. I would try to live with the explanation, but yet I can not because a) I can see that it's no deal at all because of the still-active NordVPN-subscription and b) I don't really have an idea how to spend my time in Corona-week #2 but to try it again and again. So for hours of almost getting crazy and throw the little innocent Pi out of the window I've tried to find a reason for the issue again and again and again and again and *BAM* as you expected - I found a way to fix the speed issues. But the way to fix it isn't nice at all: I switched off the Network Lock that should prevent to leak my IP. So I connected to the same server again - aaaand *surprise*, see what happend here! Looks crazy? Maybe the neighbour or someone on the same VPN-server just ended his Ultra-super-dooper-HD-Disney+-stream? Nada! I've tried it again with the Network Lock turned on. Same server, same IP, almost same ping, here's the result. Shitty! Still all this seemed to strange to me to believe at all. So I whitelisted another AirVPN-server with a lower ping. What happend? You guess the result? Network Lock off, Network Lock on. To be honest, I'm really not into this iptables-network-stuff at all to understand what's going on here. But what I can say: The NordVPN killswitch does what it should as well, too. It's a UDP connection on port 443, the same that I tried with AirVPN. But something seems to be different that doesn't knock down my bandwith. So: Anyone with an idea how to get out of the situation? Sorry for my bad English. And, ehm, oops, this should've been placed in the 'Troubleshooting and Problems'-section - I can't move it anymore.
