Now given that out side the realms of speculation on what super computers/ crypto cracking NSA/GCHQ has what implications does this have for any user of encryption technology. Assuming that any arbitary secure crypto still can't be broken within a reasonable time this can only mean more legal powers of compulsion to give up keys etc, perhaps legalised key logging, hacking, MITM etc.

 

I also assume that the legislation will be deliberatly vague in order to make it as broably applicable as possible.

 

Admin, what repercussions can you envisiage from this? Effectivly this could render any crypto in use only a strong as a persons willingness to avoid the brunt of the law. To my mind it makes the use of crypto tech a decidely more risky affair than it currently is.
