Unable to create systemd service in base Debian or LMDE

Recommended Posts

Posted ... (edited)

Hi,

I've upgraded multiple desktop clients to 2.26.2 today. When I select the "Don't ask elevation every run", the system reports "Can't create service in this OS", including when eddie-ui is run with sudo.

This applies to all copies installed on Linux Mint Debian edition (version 7 with kernel 6.12.101) and Base Debian 13.6 (kernel 6.12.101) are now unable to create a systemd service to automatically run eddie (which is problematic for those people that have and need eddie as a start up program, and the use of network lock is not available).

When the relevant admin password is provided eddie continues to function as expected including logging into the relevant servers.

Are there any known workarounds for this change (other than manually creating the systemd service, which makes the internal option somewhat redundant)?

Spelling mistakes and answering obvious part of manual creation of a systemd service
