Slow download speed

Hello,

Since a few months I get very slow speed when downloading files from a browser (Waterfox) or with Bittorrent. Without VPN, the speed is: download 926.98 Mbps, upload 928.36 Mbps.

As a test, I downloaded a 6GB file with AirVPN: the speed starts around 5MB/s but quickly decline to 1MB/s (see video).
I tested the same download with ProtonVPN and I get a steady 18MB/s.

I also did some tests with Speedtest:
AirVPN, France -> Maasym, Alblasserdam, NL: Download speed 127.97 Mbps, Upload speed 128.50 Mbps (128/8 should give me around 16MB/s).
Proton, France -> France: Download speed 156.46 Mbps; Upload speed 452.43 Mbps.

I'm on Mac silicon under Tahoe with RAM and room.

Any idea what could cause this problem?

I often encounter the same problem, my not so good solution is just to generate another config with different servers and switching between the two when one does not work

It also depends were are you located and what server you are connecting. Took me a long time figuring out why my isp speed was on par with what I paid but my vpn was 1/4 of the speed. I quickly learn that if I used a server closes to me speed was awesome but if a picked a serve in another country it was slower (shocker I know).

I try switching servers but I usually get the same slow speed.

Right now (it's 21:00 local time), it's particularly slow. I was connected to Matar, the best available server according to Eddie, and the download speed from a kDrive was under 200KB/s. I switched to "Crater", same result. I switched to Albali Uppsala Sweden, this time the download speed stalled under 50KB/s!

Also, this happens on both of my systems.

A few months ago, the speed were good, sometimes very fast. I can't understand what happened.
