VPN seemingly failed during download

Just got a c#&%%@ght notice via email right after downloading something. I have no idea how that could have happened seeing as how I was connected to a node in the Netherlands.
Is there something I might have missed in terms of settings that would have avoided this issue?

Assuming you are using Eddie, activate network lock before connecting, and/or bind your torrent program to the correct network adapter.
