AirVPN blocking local network bridge used for streaming audio from a virtual machine to the host system

Recommended Posts

Posted ... (edited)

I have Windows installed on a QEMU virtual machine, and I use a local network bridge to stream audio from the VM to the host, using a driver called Scream. When I activate the VPN, the bridge stops working and I can't hear the virtual machine, that happens both if I connect from inside the VM or if I connect from the physical machine.

I'd prefer if I could only use the VPN on my Linux host and route the VM through it, but if I connect AirVPN from the host, the VM doesn't have access to the web and the audio bridge doesn't work. If I connect from inside the VM, only the web is accessible but the audio bridge still doesn't work.

I tried adding the Ipv4 address of the audio bridge to the Routes section of Eddie-Ui settings, and also to the allowed outgoing connections on the Network Lock section, but it didn't make any difference.
These problems only occur with the Network Lock enabled, if I disable Network Lock, both work.

Any help is appreciated, thank you! Edited ... by rulerofqak

Set Force usage of old TAP driver in Eddie Preferences > Advanced for troubleshooting purposes. Does it work with it?
