Why are the US servers so poor?

Seems to be constant problems connecting to US servers. Normally I sort by latency, taking into account load. 

In the US, Mexico, Europe etc... I can happily connect to most servers quickly around the world. With US servers the first 3-5 always fail to connect. Then often the server drops out after some time, and I end up reconnecting to another. 

Is there a particular reason the performance of US servers seams to be so poor compared others?

It's you. Your setup, your location, your ISP, I don't know… but it's definitely you.
If the connection fails, in Eddie's Logs tab click the lifebelt icon and paste/upload the output. Need some info to get started looking at it. Thank you.
