Eddie Linux standalone v2.18.9 works perfectly (OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, curl v7.76.0-1.1-x86_64), but the latest version always complains that curl is not present.

Any ideas?

Did you check? Is a curl binary present in the portable directory? Does it work in the terminal?

Curl seems to work from the terminal, here's the output from curl -V

There is no curl in the standalone download package as far as I can see.  Very strange.

It is strange. The cURL binary should not be missing in the portable. Chances are Staff will read this thread and act accordingly, but if you like you can notify support of this via ticket.

Same here, both on portable and appImage.

I've looked into changelogs and it seems that some changes has occurred on

Version 2.19.1 (Sat, 18 Apr 2020 11:14:36 +0000):

  • [change] - Removed curl binary dependencies

The problem is that Eddie can't find system installed curl binary.
Please Airvpn team, fix this.

Under investigation, please report here the output of the following command (with also your exact linux distro and version)

4.14.0-sabayon
My distro is Sabayon (Gentoo derivative) and has no associated version since it is rolling release based.
Currently I am using kernel 4.14.0 and running Eddie v.2.18.9 fine with this setup.

Thanks

I downloaded and installed a fresh Sabayon (gnome edition) right now, tested Eddie 2.20 which detected curl correctly, I'm trying to reproduce the issue without success right now

my curl version detected is 7.64.0, @Rastronauta what is yours?

curl --version
