Hi there,

So today I set up my new Asus laptop (Win10) and I got the newest AirVPN client.

I made sure I didn't change the settings I am using on my old laptop - and AirVPN works fine on that old laptop.
On the new Asus laptop, however, it is stuck "checking route IPv6". Then it terminates.

This is reflected by the log as follows:

Same here 2 days before everything was fine ands then comes the ipv6 issue while connecting

An Workaround is to block ipv6:   Eddie --> Preferences ---> Networking --> Layer IPv6 --> Block ---Save

best regards

Thank you, that works indeed.

Is it known whether a future update will fix the issue, or has anyone figured a workaround to keep ipv6 included?

Strange thing is that on my old laptop a slightly older version of the client seems to work without any issues.

It's largely something with your setup, nothing an update can fix. And IPv6 inclusion is a feature, nothing requiring a workaround.

What I'd suggest are the following things. Move on to the next if the previous didn't solve it.
  • Try a connection without NetLock. Your settings indicate it's enabled on launch.
  • In C:\Users\3X3\AppData\Local\Eddie, rename the default.profile to something.else and try a connection. This will use all default settings in Eddie and rules out misconfiguration, even though you didn't explicitly change any networking-related settings.
  • From the downloads page, download the portable, experimental Eddie version. Execute the exe in there and try a connection with it. Should it work, close Eddie, copy the renamed something.else into that directory, rename it back to default.profile and try a connection again, this will use your settings. If this step worked, you can safely upgrade the installed Eddie to this experimental version.

Very much appreciated, giganerd. Unfortunately, none of the 3 options worked out for me.

I even tried on the new lapotp the (portable) AirVPN version 2.16.3, which is the one I'm using on my old laptop. And which has no issues with IPv6.

Closing thoughts:

  • If this behavior is not solvable via the AirVPN client but my computer settings, could the reason be...
    • The Windows 10 Update version 2004 (available for me new laptop; unavailable for the old laptop)
    • Comodo Internet Security Premium settings
    • Any software / hardware driver that interferes with IPv6 connections
Thank you

Comodo Internet Security Premium settings

Try disabling pretty much everything of Comodo. Antivirus, spam, firewall, maybe even consider uninstalling it completely. Some software like Kaspersky remains active to some degree in the background, interfering with all kinds of VPN software despite being disabled. You can always reinstall it afterwards.

2004 could be, but the driver thing is very unlikely.

Yes, here we go. I had given Eddie full rights so I was sure Comodo wouldn't interfere with it.

However, there's a setting in Comodo Firewall "filter IPv6". If disabled, my initial problem appears to be solved. Thank you!
