smartphone network lock

Hi,
I use the beta app and it's quite nice but I wanted to ask if it would be possible to block all trafic before network connection on smartphone start ?
As in :
1 - start the smartphone
2 - open eddie app which would block any trafic
3 - start network
4 - enable VPN : allowing eddie to connect to servers AND preventing any undesired connection to go through BEFORE the VPN is enabled.

Depending on your Android version (8+), it's already possible with Android itself. In Settings > Network/Wireless/Internet/etc. > VPN, click on the gear next to Eddie > Enable Always-On VPN and Block all non-VPN connections.
From there on Android will only be able to communicate when that particular VPN app, Eddie in this example, is connected to a VPN server.

Any other version older than 8 does not have this feature for all apps, only for built-in protocols like IPsec.

Thanks for your answer.
I saw this option but "enable always vpn" show only a dot selected to None : no eddie at all. I guess it is older than 8, need to check.
Any other solution when it's the case ?

Do you mind uploading a screenshot?
And maybe also do one of the system information screen (Settings > Info/System (> System information; it really depends on your manufacturer where to find this)).
