[Eddie] Cannot connect unless I reinstall OpenVPN GUI

Recommended Posts

Hi there,
I use Eddie software to connect airvpn in my windows 10 station (unattended windows version with a lot of service / app disable).
The first time I tried to connect it worked great.
But after a restart of the computer I was not able to connect at all, Eddie software try to join a server and immediately disconnect.
But if I install OpenVPN Gui, it works again, I can connect with Eddie without problem.
But as soon as I restart the computer, it cannot connect anymore.
Do you have an idea from where my problem could be coming?

Thanks in advance

And you could find below my logs .
As you can see, the error "All TAP-Windows adapters on this system are currently in use." seems to be the cause.
I tried to disable the tap adaptaters in the network settings of windows 10 and re-enable it after. With this workaround, I am able to connect again. But as soon as I restart, I cannot connect again and I have to reinstall open VPN or disable/enable the tap adaptator.

If someone have a more permanent solution I'm all ears.

That just doesn't make any sense. Eddie App Installs OpenVPN for you and the TAP adapter;
Do you find the tap-adapters disabled or deleted after a restart?

Thanks Fix for reviewing my problem.
It work also if I reinstall Eddie App. But the problem seems to be coming from open VPN due to the fact that if I only reinstall Open Vpn it work until the next restart.

When I restart the Tap adapter is not disable or deleted. It just connected to an unknow network while I didn't use any VPN. I need to disable it and re enable it  (then the tap adapter status is set to not connected) to make Eddie VPN connection works again

You don't need to reinstall OpenVPN. Only the tap- adapters. Then install another one or two extra ones.

How did it connect to server if your VPN app is not up/running?
I see your using Windows 10 Enterprise. If your computer/machine belongs to a company you work for that would explain why it connects to that company server you probably work for...automatically.

Thanks Fix for your help.
Below is the output of ipconfig /all.

It seems strange that the tap adapter have a local ip. But my network mask is not 192.168.x.x but rather 10.x.x.x and my router have a 10.x.x.x ip. There is no 192.168.x.x ip on my network.

See if you can change your router IP/network to 192.168.x.x.
