ANSWERED unable to bittorrent download ubuntu

can anyone download ubuntu using airvpn with having the appropriate ports forwarded ? https://ubuntu.com/download/alternative-downloads#bittorrents
i do and bittorrent says forwarding is working with a green light .   i have another provider setup on the same pfsense router, using different forwarded ports.  and i can.

ALL downloads from http://torrent.ubuntu.com:6969/announce     are not downloading.

any suggestions or help is appreciated

Depends on which server you are connected to. On Dubhe currently it seems to work.

i've reconnected  to different servers (US) and it still not letting the file download.  any suggestions?

And what exactly are these? They somehow look like OpenVPN directives put in your words but I'm not sure

Looks like pfsense openvpn directives.  They really have nothing to do with being unable to torrent. 

If the VPN works properly with other activities then there's surely just something wrong with your torrent client setup.  Even if port forwarding isn't setup properly you should still be able to download.

if i can download anything linux wise.  why would just ubuntu be blocked?

 

so what other server are you connecting to and it works.  i will try it and let you know

Is the ubuntu tracker updating, giving you seeds and peers?

2 peers.  no seeds

on another vpn provider on my same network.   these files have already have downloading and are seeding.  and have been uploaded.. several GB.

but this machine with airvpn will not download on any Airvpn server.  and i did try the German server posted.  same results

i tried qtorrent this morning and it appears my macmini(yes the issue is on a mac) has gone offline entirely.  i logged into my airvpn account and disconnected my tunnel and it reconnected automatically.  so my macmini may have died finally after 10 years of non stop use.

i'll know more when i am at home Wednesday evening.

the files download immediately with another bittorent client.    i had no idea that was even a possibility of the issue
qbittorrent 4.16 on my mac mini resolved this
