Change Encryption

I have tried changing Encryption to blowfish and even disable encryption all together, but when I connect speeds are still the same. Does the servers push only AES-256-CBC?

 

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

AES-256-GCM is also supported if your client has openvpn 2.4.x.

Hi,

 

You can't choose any type of encryption AirVPN doesn't support which includes no encryption. If that's what you really want, I suggest you look somewhere else.

OpenVPN <2.4, AES-256-CBC as data channel cipher.

Negotiation with following TLS ciphers (IANA names, tls-cipher directive server-side):

TLS-DHE-RSA-WITH-AES-256-GCM-SHA384 TLS-DHE-RSA-WITH-AES-256-CBC-SHA256 TLS-DHE-RSA-WITH-AES-256-CBC-SHA TLS-DHE-RSA-WITH-CAMELLIA-256-CBC-SHA

 

Unlike the OpenVPN default, we don't accept any AES-128 or any TLS-ECDHE.

AES-256-GCM is also supported if your client has openvpn 2.4.x.

 

I think also the server has to have 2.4.x installed. Atleast for me. I get decryption errors otherwise.

 

Which leads me to the following question: Is it possible to define 2 ciphers in the config (aes-256-gcm and aes-256-cbc) in a preffered order? So i can use gcm whenever possible?
