Dedicated vs Virtual Server - How To ID?

Greetings - I'm new here, researching VPNs, and I see topic of dedicated/physical servers and virtual/VPS comes up with logs and security.

 

But how to tell if the VPN is using dedicated or virtual servers with certainty? It seems AirVPN is only dedicated - great news. But how to verify this with other VPNs - for example ExpressVPN? I'm using ipinfo.io to examine ip addresses right now.

There is no exact method of doing this, but in case of ExpressVPN they are doing fake GeoIP tricks

to advertise false locations. A server in country like Bhutan, Laos, Myanmar is a myth.

If a company lies to you about the locations, it doesn't matter much if it's a dedicated or a virtual server.
