j28sn28 0 Posted 10/13/2017 Greetings - I'm new here, researching VPNs, and I see topic of dedicated/physical servers and virtual/VPS comes up with logs and security. But how to tell if the VPN is using dedicated or virtual servers with certainty? It seems AirVPN is only dedicated - great news. But how to verify this with other VPNs - for example ExpressVPN? I'm using ipinfo.io to examine ip addresses right now. Thanks for assistance and sorry if this was posted in the wrong area!-noob Quote Share this post Link to post
zhang888 1067 Posted 10/13/2017 There is no exact method of doing this, but in case of ExpressVPN they are doing fake GeoIP tricksto advertise false locations. A server in country like Bhutan, Laos, Myanmar is a myth.If a company lies to you about the locations, it doesn't matter much if it's a dedicated or a virtual server. 1 LZ1 reacted to this Quote Hide zhang888's signature Hide all signatures Occasional moderator, sometimes BOFH.
