Seperate Network for specific app Window 10

Recommended Posts

I wonder if there is possible way to have two separate network interface. One is OpenVPN which all app will use that for network while other network interface is non-VPN for one specific app? I am deaf myself, I rely on using Video Relay Service to communicate with everyone as a phone call (think of it as Skype with video but with American Sign Language Interpreters). There is Purple Communication/ZVRS, Sorenson Communication, Global VRS and Convo Relay. They are under FCC (Federal Communication Commission) because they are paying the service for Deaf people due to American with Disabilities Act. FCC have specific policy on how relay service do with the call, it is due to policy that all Videophone and Videophone program is required to use on non-vpn network for 911 emergency reason that use location to find where you are. Every time I use the VPN, the interpreter will inform me in the call that they cannot process the call since it is flagged and ask me to hang up. Unless I am traveling internationally which VPN will be permitted.

My point is is there a way to have two network interface for VPN and Non-VPN, so I can browse internet in Starbucks or something like that while using Videophone on Non-VPN? I hope I am making it clear. If I am being confusing, I will try to rephrase it again. English is not my native language.

hey NoiselessOwl hope all is well

your english is fine, better than mine actually

i might be wrong on this had to do some googling

i am guessing what you are wanting is called 'split tunneling'

ref: https://airvpn.org/topic/20695-split-tunneling/

from what i understand from that post you need iptables to help

you with your routing so if an emergency happens and you are able

to make a 911 call they have your geo location.

I researched a little bit about that and found the article how to enable split tunneling in Window 10. I just need to disable "enable default gateway on remote host" for the split tunneling to work. the VPN connection property did not offer that option. It is just not there. I am not sure how to get it working. There is a PowerShell but I am scared to mess it up. This article is what I use https://eyonic.blogspot.com/2016/06/how-to-enable-vpn-split-tunneling-in.html

read a bit on the article and like his blog layout btw

i'd suggest get a cheap cell phone or cheap lan line

in case you have an emergency

i'm actually in the same boat right now in a way

i'm tired of the 'surveillance' type stuff done on cell

phones today and will most likely get a cheap lan line

phone for my home

that way things are simpler for me

my home then has a stable call in/out

i have some 'backup' in case the net goes down

which often it does in our area due to weather

i do understand the financial side of things

hopefully you get your config set up the way you want
