API Key Length

It says from AirVPN/Your Details And stats(Web) that my API Key is as follows:-

e710d9403dd58d20c359aa17d898815130a8ac85

Which is 40 characters long.  With 2048bit encryption, should there not be a lot more characters?

You mix up keys and tokens, and by extent your OpenVPN connection and an API. You don't need either of those to make the other one work.

 

The API key is used in apps for example to pull various stats from AirVPN about your account, your connection and/or servers in a way an external program can process it.

The RSA key can be used to encrypt the Control Channel of an OpenVPN connection, i.e., messages exchanged between OpenVPN server and client, not the data itself (what you do within the tunnel).
