techocity 4 Posted ... Right... I couldn't find definitive answers by searching in the forum, so I wonder if you guys could help. Why does AirVPN connect to Amazon servers when it starts up? I am unable to access my NAS drive via ethernet with Network Lock enabled. How do I access it without disabling NL? Why is AirVPN under Public Network and not Home Network? Thanks Share this post Link to post

OpenSourcerer 1442 Posted ... Why is AirVPN under Public Network and not Home Network? "Whenever you connect to a network, a network location needs to be selected. Windows based on this selection assigns a network discovery state to the network. To make it simple: Network discovery affects if a computer can be seen and see other computers on the network." (Source) I'd rather configure it as a public network, since AirVPN is a public service. Wouldn't want those lookups to be a possible attack vector on a Windows machine if shit hits the fan over at the datacenter - or in case of a misconfiguration. Unlikely but, well.. Germans say, "Vorsicht ist die Mutter der Porzellankiste" ("Better safe than sorry", more or less). 1 techocity reacted to this Hide OpenSourcerer's signature Hide all signatures NOT AN AIRVPN TEAM MEMBER. techocity 4 Posted ... Thanks for your help guys. I am still trying to figure out how to access my external storage via LAN without disabling Network Lock. I am assuming WFP is blocking access to it. Is there a way to do it? Share this post Link to post
go558a83nk 364 Posted ... Thanks for your help guys. I am still trying to figure out how to access my external storage via LAN without disabling Network Lock. I am assuming WFP is blocking access to it. Is there a way to do it? Eddie is supposed to allow LAN traffic even with network lock on, there are settings for it. Maybe you disabled them? If not, I suggest you open up a support ticket and give them logs. 1 techocity reacted to this Share this post Link to post
