Firebolt059 4 Posted ... Just upgraded my Airvpn to the latest 2.11.15 (love it). I was wondering, when looking at the server tab I noticed there are "speed" and "latency" options; is one "faster" than another? I generally use air for torrenting and general browsing. Does it matter if I use a canadian server (speed) or a US server (latency)? Quote Share this post Link to post

Just test several cities and see which works best for you. Quote Share this post Link to post

Speed is constant for all users, and the server with most available bandwidth will be shown.Latency is something very individual, and has lots of factors which start with your ISP.A closer server does not guarantee better latency, but torrents/browsing are not a latency sensitive applications, so youdon't have to choose a server based on that. VoIP/Gaming are more latency dependent applications, so when using them, try to choose the server with the best latency. Firebolt059 4 Posted ... So for torrents and general browsing, it is usually better to use the "speed" sorting? sometimes I have higher speeds when torrenting on the latency servers, but that was using the old 2.10 stable. Haven't tested the latency sorted servers with torrents yet. Quote Share this post Link to post
