greenclaydog 6 Posted ... @AgentSmithRunning a few traceroutes from Antares Singapore and from my ISP it appears traffic to Hawaii goes via California - a bit like a high speed motorway has restricted access and a big expensive interchange far away even if it passes your backyard.Actually latency does not bother me that much if I am just web browsing, news video watching at 720p etc - using ImageBlock, uBlockOrigin and NoScript addons in Firefox makes the biggest difference to page load times and just disable selectively. Any bittorrent I usually do with my off-peak data quota while I sleep, and often use Netherlands VPN servers for peering efficiency "good netizen" reasons. But most of the crap in 2016 from the studios is not worth watching even if you get it for free - cuts down piracy if they just sell junk for childminds.@zhang888Internet connectivity has now a long and ugly history in party political warfare. There are some similarities to the story of healthcare in the USA.A "free market" bias toward oligopy and cherry-picking for restricted expensive services with many excluded. A "leftist" push for national infrastructure for economic benefits, social equity, ethical sort of reasons. A "rightist" campaign by vested interests denouncing such "socialist" activity. A change of government to the "rightists" and an ideological fanaticism to destroy any legacy of the "leftists", and benefits for the sponsors. So a highly political situation, with little constraint from logic or common sense or advice of economists.See https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2593300"Federal Coalition "NBN"/MTM policy - Part 92" for more than you want to know. But it is really mainly about moving electrons for work or entertainment, whereas the healthcare politics in the USA are about how many hundreds of thousands of Americans will be tortured and murdered by denial of access to healthcare when they must eventually become sick or old."I don't know how such a big and economic country doesn't go to the streets because of that." - indeed. That sucks, you would think they would have direct routes to Asia and Australia. Bummer Share this post Link to post

number2 5 Posted ... Why not Estonia? The country often appears at the top of the list in internet freedoms, has excellent IT infrastructure and is relatively cheap. Plus it can easily serve users in the nordic countries, baltics and Russia. I'd get rid of the Latvia servers and move them to Estonia. 2 Bprksons and WaNNaBEAnoNymoUs reacted to this Share this post Link to post

Sometimes i have good performance with Latvian servers but quite a few times i do not. The 100mbit line clogging up really makes speeds and quality inconsistent for constant use. If we could get a 1gigabit line in Estonia and there are no legal implications for Air, i would be for adding servers there. 2 WaNNaBEAnoNymoUs and argv reacted to this Share this post Link to post

anonym 22 Posted ... If it's possible: Iceland, and some others in Spain.I agree, Iceland would be a great location. More locations outside the EU would be wonderful, particularly in the Americas.A possible host in Iceland (very supportive of free speech) would be https://www.orangewebsite.com . They offer VPS, and dedicated servers in Iceland. anonym Share this post Link to post

Octopus01 2 Posted ... Italy please.I am italian living abroad and I would love to use AirVPN to watch Netflix in my language, instead of having to switch to another VPN provider. Thanks Share this post Link to post

ntropia 0 Posted ... Italy for me, too! Another Italian living abroad that would like to have the chance to get in touch with home.BTW, I was kinda surprised not finding Italy already, given the history of AirVPN, although I suspect it may be due to the bureaucratic issues of the country). Provide data center names, links and information qualifying your suggestions! Otherwise, this thread is junk.Just because we are not willing to spend hours on end searching through all the data center providers in the world does not mean that we cannot voice which countries we wish to see added. We are telling AirVPN which countries we want, then they can see if there are data center options available for them. It's not our job to do AirVPN's homework. I would hope that's included somewhere in the subscription costs. 6 mylittlepony, victorab, 333_half_evil and 3 others reacted to this Share this post Link to post

monstrocity 31 Posted ... Would be lovely if AirVPN can reevaluate whether a server in Japan is possible or not. Singapore is great. Definitely a country of the international internet hub, but I must say the reliability is not perfect. It is unstable at times with fluctuating speeds and ping. Mostly works well though, I'm glad Youtube is working almost flawlessly from South Korea. Japan is a well connected hub internationally and for people located in East Asia with great ping and speeds. I do understand that AirVPN has privacy goals to meet and it's really too bad if Japan's legislation cannot meet the standards , but laws change and it would be nice if AirVPN could take a look again.Another ROK subscriber here. Singapore is the only decent option for us; I got no joy trying HK servers. Japan would be a welcome addition for East Asian subscribers - a pipe dream most likely but I had to second willowbrook's comment. 1 charity reacted to this Share this post Link to post
