Kepler_452b 77 Posted ... When do people think it will be necessary to switch to IPV6 and how will that affect AriVpn use? Quote Share this post Link to post
Guest Posted ... When it will be necessary to switch to IPv6 it will also be necessary for servers to have an IPv6 address for obvious reasons which means I'm sure they'll add it to their servers and allow us to use it. At the current rate maybe in 4-5 years it will be necessary for most things? Quote Share this post Link to post
zhang888 1066 Posted ... When there will be resources that are IPv6 only. Right now personally I am not aware of any, and this is why my entire home/worknetworks are IPv4 only. There are many admins who share the same opinion, so the adoption rate is around 5-10% at best cases. Also because CG-NAT is a huge additional privacy advantage. IPv6 has many protocol related issues that makes it inappropriate for privacy, such as Mobility, Nomadicity, neighbor solicitation.Huge security mess with leaky implementations and DoS possibilities. 1 go558a83nk reacted to this Quote Hide zhang888's signature Hide all signatures Occasional moderator, sometimes BOFH. go558a83nk 362 Posted ... as zhang says, many problems. I hope I've never forced into using it. but, openvpn supports ipv6. some VPN providers are already using it. so, shouldn't be a problem to transition if needed. Quote Share this post Link to post
OpenSourcerer 1435 Posted ... Funny that the RFC was submitted almost 20 years ago... and we still don't use it. We should create IPv5 mitigating the problems of IPv4 and IPv6.
