ANSWERED Antares (Singapore) latency from Singapore Question

Hi,

I'm located in Singapore and used to log into the Antares server that's also located in Singapore.

I used to get a latency of about 4ms.

Just recently all the Hong Kong servers have been getting better speeds than the Singapore server.

Why would the Antares latency jump to 189ms?

trace the route.  most likely your ISP lost some connectivity forcing the route to take a long path.

I did a traceroute.  Looks like traffic is going via the US and Japan?

You are right.

Looks like your ISP (Singnet) messed up the routing to Leaseweb SG.

 

Normally this can be solved by raising a support issue with them and

escalating it to NOC just after the call.

Thanks folks.  I sent a few screenshots to singnet, including some that showed I was getting a faster connection from Starbucks wireless than I was from my home fibre connection to Antares.

As of today it seems to be back in order.
