'OpenVPN Connect' for iOS outdated?

Hi all,

 

after reading Using AirVPN with iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod), is the iOS app OpenVPN Connect "dead"? It was last updated in 2014?!

This is not a software that is maintained by Air, so no one around here knows it's current status and plans.

You might want to send an email to the official developers who are in charge of it.

I know that the app is not developed by AirVPN - but they recommend it for their services, and I think here are a lot of iOS users.

This is still the official app, and this is why it is recommended.

iOS does not allow VPN clients to be uploaded like in Play Store.

openvpn connect on iOS uses polarSSL instead of openSSL like many other openvpn setups.  polarSSL hasn't had the security vulnerabilities that openssl has had.  that is one reason why there's been no need to update it.

 

on iOS what features are you missing that you would ask for an update?

If the app has no known or annoying bugs and no security issues, all is fine :-)
