It doesn't hide my IP address

My IP address is NOT hidden when I'm connected. When I go to whatismyipaddress.com I can see that IP is real and not hidden. I have no problems with connection or servers, everything is fine except that I'm not getting any protection.

You will always see a real IP address when you visit that site.  The question is, what IP address is it reporting?  If it's showing you your IP address assigned by your ISP then you are not connected to and/or not routing your Internet traffic through AirVPN.  If that web site is showing you your listed "exit IP" address from the AirVPN client area then you are properly connected and routing through AirVPN.

I had this problem, but then realized I hadn't disabled WebRTC on the browser I was using. I can't find the link that I used to fix it. Somewhere on AirVPN's site they have instructions on disabling WebRTC. Disabling WebRTC was what worked for me.

But it doesn't work. I'm changing servers, but still nothing.

• Mozilla Firefox: Type "about:config” in the address bar. Scroll down to “media.peerconnection.enabled”, double click to set it to false.
• Google Chrome: Install Google official extension WebRTC Network Limiter.

What is a "DNS leaks"?

In this context, with "DNS leak" we mean an unencrypted DNS query sent by your system OUTSIDE the established VPN tunnel.

Why my system suffers DNS leaks?

In brief: Windows lacks the concept of global DNS. Each network interface can have its own DNS. Under various circumstances, the system process svchost.exe will send out DNS queries without respecting the routing table and the default gateway of the VPN tunnel, causing the leak.

Should I be worried for a DNS leak?

If you don't want that your ISP, and anybody with the ability to monitor your line, knows the names your system tries to resolve (so the web sites you visit etc.) you must prevent your system to leak DNS. If you feel that you're living in a human rights hostile country, or in any way the above mentioned knowledge may harm you, you should act immediately to stop DNS leaks.

Thanks for this. I couldn't find the instructions I used to disable it. It might not be the reason for 505's problems, but it doesn't hurt to make sure it's disabled.
