Google.com redirects to ???

Hello lads,

could somebody tell me where he gets redirected when pointing the browser to google.com while connected to Ancha???

I'm asking because it redirects me to a localized google search engine of a country which is not Netherlands and it should not.

I have no leaks af far as i know and it only happens with Ancha.

Can somebody shed some light on how google redirect works??? IP based???

Update: it happens just with the new 5 dutch servers recently added.

in other words, when you connect to one of these servers, it looks like google knows what your country is. And it should not.

Anyone noticed this problem?

When I'm connected to Ancha I get redirected to google.ie! No idea why.

You could use google's ncr

Google's IP databases are an old painful topic, I find myself mentioning it many times lately.

Many times it's just an outdated IP location database on Google's end, there is nothing for

AirVPN to fix here.

Just use /ncr as rickjames suggested or use https://search.disconnect.me with any language

you want to get their localized results.

 

If you are asking how they can know your location, there are many ways for them to do so.

First, there is the Google PREF and NID cookies, they are updated whenever you login to any

of the Google services, including YouTube and maps, based on your Google account.

 

In other words, being connected to a Gmail with "Ireland" set in the profile, will make all your

requests served by the google.ie localization.

The second way for them to know it is HTML5 geolocation, they use it on their Maps service.

To clarify then, it's Google's fault that I am getting Google.be instead of Google.co.uk?

Because this doesn't happen on every Air VPN server.
