DNS Problems

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Wondering if someone could shed some light on what i'm doing wrong.

I'm running W10 64 bit and using the AIRVPN client.

I'm continuously receiving the following error when trying to browse webpages. ( see below )

I haven't made any manual changes to the client and I'm currently running version 2.10.3

Which DNS do you have on IPv4 adaptor's config? Try to set it temporally to Google's ones for example.

If i go into the program settings > advanced > DNS and set a DNS server as 8.8.8.8 then i no longer have DNS issues and can access websites.

by default it looks like the program is setting my DNS server as 10.4.0.1 which is ofcourse when i have problems accessing websites.

This is normal if you are using Eddie and have Network Lock enabled.

Open the cmd as administrator then type

netsh interface show interface

it will show your interfaces. Mine are, for example, "wi-fi" "ethernet 2" "ethernet".

The you type in

netsh interface ipv4 set dnsserver "name" dhcp

I change the "name" for "wi-fi" on mine, for example.

Thanks for your reply.

This gets the DNS working temporarily after about 2-3 minutes the problem re-occurs
