Eddie Portable fails to restart in Linux

Hello,

I'm using Eddie Portable on PCLinuxOS. If I close the client, it will not restart again unless I reboot the system.

 

Anything have I to check or configure?

Any chance you are running portable Eddie from a NTFS formatted drive? I am asking because I had a problem starting Linux portable version of Eddie from a NTFS drive. You may look my post about it here:

Have you looked @ top or a gui process list to see if its still running?

Its possible its not actually closing or getting stuck.

Hmm,

Are you running the client as sudo/su?

Did you grab the mozo portable version or the other one? -could always try the other version.

 

Have you tried a normal install instead of the portable version? Even if only for testing it might help you troubleshoot it.

 

Something else you could try is running iptables -L via terminal. Checking if the iptables rules change while the client is running with network lock activated might give a clue as well. Its possible the network lock simply isn't applying correctly on that distro.

 

I've never run PCLinuxOS as I'm more of a bsd or debian fan. Hopefully someone else will know more or has run into this before on PCLinuxOS.

I'm running the client clicking on AirVPN icon, the portable is the one without Mono required

there is no sudo on PCLinuxOS, I mean, is not installed by default but evailable on repos

 

normal install I haven't tried, there is a rpm version for openSUSE/Fedora I dont' know if may work withot problem on PCLinuxOS (Pachage manager is apt via rpm)

I've tried the portable (Mono Required).

I've installed Mono and all the dipendency but there is an exe in it and don't start

 

I've no idea if the rpm for opensuse/fedora will works out the issue, I'll give a try...

ayy yea try the install. I have no clue why there's any exe files in there. Sounds like you got the wrong version or something.

 

You could always just connect via the terminal then make the rules manually.

But it would probably be easier to just use a linux distro that's supported by the client.

Debian 7.8 Wheezy has 0 systemd

If you apt from -t wheezy-backports you can grab the latest kernel as well. 'more recent driver support'
