That is a loaded question.  I am still trying to figure out why things behave erratically under certain situations.

 

On Windows, I have found that the only way to get good performance on both upload and download is to use the SSL protocol option.  Anything else, and the download speeds are terrible, and depending on the protocol, uploads may suffer as well.

 

On Linux, I can get very fast speeds even with the basic UDP 443 protocol setting.

 

What OS?

Are you using the Eddie client?  If so, which version?

What server are you connecting to?

What protocol are you using?

How fast is your internet?

Who is your ISP?

Might have something to do with the bandwidth-delay product (see second part of my post in thread "Latency?") and/or the fact that at most times there are more customers of your ISP downloading something than uploading things.
