Linux verifying it is working on embedded device (such as Openelec)

Could someone enlighten me the best way to test to see AirVPN is working on server or and embedded Linux device like Openelec?

Let me explain a little further.  I would like to get information back that verifies the script I have placed on my OpenElec box and my Server (both are linux OS) are actually creating the VPN with AirVPN and working like they should.  If anyone could show my command line that I can use to check to see if the VPN is working on these boxes since I am using scripts to activate the VPN instead of the AirVPN client.

 

Any help is very appreciated.
