Can't connect to any server - Error "can't assign requested address"

Hi 

 

I can't connect to any server either with AirVPN nor Tunnelblick. (using Mac Os)

 

Each time I have the following error

2014-12-26 12:18:43 TLS Error: TLS handshake failed
2014-12-26 12:18:43 SIGUSR1[soft,tls-error] received, process restarting

 

Please note that using openVPN on iOS devices, everything work perfectly.

 

Any idea how to resolve this?

It might help if you gave a few more details, like whether it has worked before or you are setting things up for the first time.

 

What that obscure error message actually means is that a program tries to use an address that isn't available - like if it wants to set up a connection between 1.2.3.4 and 2.3.4.5 and 1.2.3.4 is not the address of any network interface on the system.

 

I get that error sometimes when my "real" IP changes and OpenVPN tries to use the old one to reconnect to an Air server. That doesn't sound like what's going on here, but maybe it's a clue to what is.

I finally managed to connect to some servers, using UDP port 2018 but some servers (like Furud FR) still do not work.

I know this is an old thread but it might help someone.

 

Apparently this is caused with a bug in the OSX routing table. Do this:

 

sudo ifconfig en0 down

sudo route flush

sudo ifconfig en0 up
