TCP is very slow. How to use UDP?

Recommended Posts

1. How come UDP doesn't work for me? Is it some configuration on the client or my router or is my ISP blocking it? Is there a way to make UDP work?

2. If only TCP is available, is there a way to make it faster?

@ 1. It could be your router. By default port 443 is a TCP port and many routers use a 'macro' type of setup that if you choose allow https what its doing is allowing port 442 tcp. I have no clue what router your on but its worth looking into.

@ 2. In the client you could choose SSH connection. That uses TCP but its generally faster than a raw tcp connection

Thanks. It's definitely my ISP or modem rather than my pc cause I can connect to TCP fine from other locations.

I can't connect to any of the TCP connections (443, 80, 53).

I have a weird modem/router combo from the ISP.

I don't see where to choose SSH. Is that socks in preferences??
