uTorrent seeding speeds are very low

Recommended Posts

Hi.. Does anyone expericnce any speed issues when seeding on uTorrent while using AirVPN?  my speeds are 1kb or less upload.

However i ran a speedtest and my speeds are great.

Down: 13.678 Mbit/s Out, 12.776 Mbit/s In (93%), 20MB - Up: 11.747 Mbit/s Out, 13.632 Mbit/s In (116%), 20MB - Date: Sun, 07 Sep 2014 02:49:23 GMT - Buffers: 20MB/20MB - Laps: 3, Time: 86.31 secs

why would my utorrent upload speeds take such a huge hit?  I am connected to a Netherlands server.

Hi Fox... No i have not tried other ports. I am using ports that are availiable from AIRVPN's website.  Then i set add that port to uTorrent.  At this point i don't think it's even uploading anything. I can download fine and if i test the port from AIRVPN i do get a green light, but again; no upload..   Not sure what to do...  If i disconnect from AIRVPN everything works fine up/down.

Have you tried other ports or protocol? 80 or 53 tcp

He didn't mean the ports you forward through Forwarded ports. He meant the port you are using to connect to AirVPN.

May I ask which OS and client you do use?

O.k. so i opened up the AirVPN application, clicked on the "stats" tab.  VPN Protocol UDP and VPN port is 443.  Is that what you were asking?

Yes, exactly that. You could try a connection with UDP port 53 or 80. Report, please.

Hi Giganerd,

Thank you very much for responding to my posts and assisting me with this issue.  Please excuse my "Clueless-ness" as i'm not sure what you mean by trying a connection with UDP port 53 or 80; where would I be setting this configuration? Would i set my uTorrents port to 53 or 80?

https://airvpn.org/ports/ won't allow me to forward ports, says "You can use only ports >=2048, lower ports are already reserved.  You can enter any local port."  However after just typing that out, would I have to set my my local port to 53 or 80? uTorrent uses for example port 88888 with a TCP & UDP portocol.  Underneath that settings there is line for Local port and underneath that there is one for DDNS.  Would i added 53 or 80 where it says Local port?

In Preferences > Protocols, you can change the protocol and port you want to use to connect to AirVPN.

Thanks for your help.  My upload speeds on uTorrent with port 80 are better at 10-50kb/s... However I haven't seen it go any faster.  Not a big deal though at least I am able to seed..

Update.. eh, it's the same thing.. I'm not getting the connections nor the upload speed that i would get if i just wen through my ISP.  Is this normal?

In Preferences > Protocols, you can change the protocol and port you want to use to connect to AirVPN.
