How I use AirVPN with a Raspberry Pi to "breathe the real internet"

Recommended Posts

My UK ISP currently blocks a few sites that I use so I set-up my Raspberry Pi as a type of internal VPN Client/Router/Forwarder. I've set up my router with static routes of servers which are blocked by my ISP. My Router then forwards this on to the Rapberry Pi which then goes through AirVPN. This means every device on my network can access blocked websites or can temporarily opt-in to routing all traffic via the Pi along with using AirVPN's DNS server (10.4.0.1) therefore allowing access to services such as Hulu or just simply using P2P on a machine to get past ISP's throttling.

I've put my config and scripts on github https://github.com/adamprescott/rpi-vpnclientforwarder feel free to use it however you like.
