can't connect to any server

Hi im having trouble connecting to any server either using airvpn or the open vpn program using the config files im running windows xp and have .net frame works 2.0 and higher do i need to remove the other .netframeworks and leave 2.0 or should that not matter? when i click connect it says connecting checking then connection failed
