DANGER! Reachable on real IP over the external port 36981, tcp protocol.

Recommended Posts

I've set up my utorrent to use port 36891. I've also opened the same port on my D-Link router, under "Virtual server", where I use this port on both "public" and "private", and on both protocol tcp and udp. And on the Airvpn webpage, I've forwarded this port on both protocols. The upload is working fine (i get credit for uploading), but I see this warning on the port-forwarding page on the Airvpn webpage: "DANGER! Reachable on real IP over the external port 36981, tcp protocol."

Does this mean that I'm not "invisible" to the authorities? Can they see what I'm doing (down/uploading) torrents?

I'm using the openvpn service, and I'm also using the "https://www.dnsleaktest.com/" as startpage just to verify every time I start my pc. And I'm safe according to their test.

I use http://ipleak.net/

dnsleaktest did not always show my isp leaks.

Thanks for the link. It shows that i do not have any leaks, still, the Danger warning at airvpn appears. Can anyone please explain if i should worry about this?

Ok, now I'm starting to scratch my head. I tried the ipleak.net site, and it shows me that I'm connected to a server in Sweden. And then i ran dnsleaktest, and it shows me that I'm connected to a server in Netherlands, the ip is the same!

Hello, Please read the tutorial on port forwarding, you should not forward ports in your router/ firewall, openvpn should tunnel thru without issue.

Allright! Thank you for your clearifying answers I'll remove my port-forwarding on my local router, and just use the forwarding here at the airvpn site then
