SSL, Owncloud, and AirVPN... help please?

I've been at this for about a week now. Originally, I was going to do this the simple method of using the CLI program...didn't work. Then I tried stunnel and openvpn separately, as to avoid using the official program... nothing.

 

From CLI, when I add SSL using mode.protocol=SSL, it does log me in... but when I hit "n" to cycle the connection, it doesn't go through. It just error loops.

 

I use DD-WRT. Port 80 is fowarded. OpenVPN works fine without SSL or stunnel running. http access is golden but I need https to actually use owncloud with some privacy.

You are mixing 2 unrelated things.

To access owncloud using https, you don't have to connect using SSL or stunnel, you just need to forward

a port and install owncloud and it's https certificates, and make it listen on that port.

The CLI client works fine. Post your syntax and logs from the connection.

Woah woah hold up. Owncloud has its own https certificates? Where? Do they themselves provide them? I sort of wanted to use a private key.

You have to generate your own self signed certificate and import it the web-server config, or you can buy a signed certificate

and link your own domain to OwnCloud. Any of the procedures are documented and supported.

Can I link the .airdns.org address that ddns provides me in "forwarded-ports"?

 

Is that "mine" to use even though I am sort of borrowing it from AirVPN?

 

I was using a local port in my apache owncloud.conf. Am I supposed to put in my AirVPN address instead?
